UN – Millions Of Children Assassinated By Hunger

There’s not much to say about this, other than this is the daily reality we ignore to live our lives.

Every child who dies of hunger in today’s world is the victim of an assassination, a United Nations expert on the right to food, Jean Ziegler, said today in New York.

The world’s agricultural production should be able to feed 12 billion people, but globally, 852 million are consistently undernourished, 100,000 people die of hunger every day, and a child under 10 years of age dies every 5 seconds, Mr. Ziegler told a press conference. He called this a daily massacre of human beings through malnutrition

Nothing concrete or specific, certainly. Much as the moose is doing nothing specific about the spread of AIDS or tuberculosis, or the wars in Congo or Uganda, or any number of absolutely shocking situations in the world.

However, we of the dancing moose are aware of them, and, where possible, factor this awareness into the decisions we make in the conduct of our life. We of the dancing moose are comfortable with our conscience; that, from studying the world-system, writing and researching is the best thing the moose can be doing at present. Other actions may be appropriate in the future.

The moose is certainly not going around stranger’s blogs posting relatively anonymous comments which look like some sort of petty attempt to justify their own inaction.
