tibet vigil

Tonight from 5:30pm at Parliament there is a vigil supporting the Tibetan people.

Follow this link to sign the Avaaz petition to Chinese President Hu Jintao. They’re aiming for a million names ASAP.

    I’ve signed but, let’s be honest, the PRC government won’t give a flying fuck even if a million internet users sign…

    Maybe. I was finding that at the vigil, as the speakers listed the stuff they were doing/wanted to happen, I could systematically work out why they would probably fail. This shit is complex and interconnected and the obvious solutions are not politically viable and the politically viable solutions are ineffective but doing something is better than nothing. Tibet is one of the places I really want to visit. I hate what is happening to the Tibetans.
