    I think I can see what he was getting at, but the power of social inertia should never be underestimated.

    We are using up the world’s resources but I reckon that all that will happen is that to be “rich” will come to mean being able to afford a can of tuna and a litre of clean water. I think *that* will happen *long* before society changes, no matter how much we all know and understand the problem. I think we mostly understand what’s happening, but changing is just too much trouble. :P
