Just realised that it has been over two years since I wrote any fiction. (At least, according to the date on the draft of The United States of Dave that was just returned, it is.)
Earlier tonight I rewrote the introduction to the non-fiction book, and got all excited. It feels awesome. The introduction was always the very last thing to be done.
And among the options for the mythical next project, a surprising one has raised its hand. It often feels like there is a window in which a specific book can be written. The requisite passion and obsession and headspace can’t be faked. Fascinating projects can fall by the wayside if the alchemic lightning doesn’t strike. We shall see.
